AN INTRODUCTION TO & LIST OF THE ORGANIZATIONS THAT HAVE TAKEN PLACE IN THE VILLAGE

INTRODUCTION

Before the formation of the parish in 1872 any organizations the inhabitants belonged to would have been in the parish of Buxted or in the local towns of Uckfield and Crowborough. After the formation of the parish the two original organizations were the church and school and it was only in the 20th century that other organizations took hold, many only for a few years.
